Day 5 Game 6: Kennedy Plate Final – LDSL 2 – 3 Waterford aet

The LDSL U14s gave it their all in the Kennedy Plate Final, coming up just short with a 2-3 loss to Waterford after extra time, with a late goal in the 69th minute from H. Thompson deciding the match. A. O’Shea 40′ and C. Maher 42′ had put LDSL in front early in the second half. However, Waterford pulled it back and through T. Gahan 44′ and R. Skehan 61′ nicking an equalizer in extra time took the game in Extra Time. While the result might feel disappointing, the team and coaches should hold their heads high—they had an amazing tournament and made everyone proud with their effort and teamwork. A huge thank you to everyone who supported the boys throughout the week; your encouragement made a big difference. And, of course, congratulations to Limerick Desmond on their fantastic Cup Final win—what an achievement – well done.


Day 4 Game 5: Kennedy Plate Semi Final – LDSL 1 – 0 Galway
The Limerick District U14 team demonstrated resilience and excellence following their Cup penalty shootout loss with a decisive 1-0 victory over Galway in the Gaynor Plate Semi Final. A composed defensive effort secured another clean sheet, while Oliver Galecki’s outstanding header, from Adam O’Shea’s pinpoint cross, sealed the win. The squad’s performance guarantees a top 5/6 finish and a spot in the Plate Final.

Day 3 Kennedy Cup Quarter Final – Results LDSL 0-0 Limerick Desmond (Limerick Desmond won 4-3 on Pens)

In a tense local derby, the LDSL squad faced Limerick Desmond in the Kennedy Cup quarterfinal, drawing 0-0 in a hard-fought match between two evenly matched sides. The game was decided by penalty kicks, where LDSL narrowly lost 4-3 in a dramatic shootout. Despite the disappointment, the team can hold their heads high, having displayed grit, skill, and determination throughout the encounter. Congratulations to the squad and coaches for their remarkable efforts in reaching this stage of the tournament. LDSL now looks ahead to the plate semi-final against Galway today at 5 PM, with confidence and renewed resolve. Best wishes to everyone involved! LDSL Kennedy Cup U14 Boys Team: Top Group 5 and progress from the stages to the Cup qtr. final.
The LDSL Kennedy Cup U14 Boys team showcased exceptional talent and determination, winning all three matches in the group stages with impressive results: 1-0 versus Inishowen, 3-0 versus Mayo, and 4-1 versus Wexford. These stellar performances earned them the top spot in the group with a perfect 9 points. Their effort and teamwork have secured a place in the cup quarterfinal, where they will face local rivals Limerick Desmond at 2 PM in UL. This remarkable achievement demonstrates their potential, and we extend our best wishes to the squad and coaches for continued success in the tournament. Hon. LDSL!
